Teagyn Vallevand

Teagyn Vallevand is a visual artist and inland tlingit from Kwanlin Dün First Nations. She’s currently working towards a BLA in Tlingit Language at the University of Southeast Alaska. She belongs to the Ganaxteidi Raven Clan. Teagyn learned how to bead from Florence Moses and the KDCC Sewing Circle, and has found fulfillment through beading in many ways; as a means to heal through art, meditate, and a way to reclaim and stay connected to her culture no matter where she is. She is very excited to be participating in the KDCC Artist Residency this summer and to show off her tradishalicious creations!
