Shakaat Artist Residency Program

An annual Artist-in-Residence program at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre

2020 Applications Now Open

The Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is proud to host a paid, community based artists-in-residence program, during the summer tourist season, that will encourage, support and showcase Indigenous art and provide an opportunity for the visiting public to engage with First Nation artists.

Artists will be required to set up their studio for a three-week period and demonstrate their art form at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre. During their time at the Centre, the artist would also deliver a workshop that is open to the public and participate in an artist talk.

Funding for this project is made possible through the assistance of Arts Fund, Department of Tourism and Culture, Jeanie Dendys, Minister.
