Dän Shäw Retail Gallery

The name Dän Shäw Gift Shop was selected through a community naming contest. Dän means “the people,” while shäw is connected to “good,” giving the name the meaning “The People’s Good Things” or “Gifts of the People.” KDCC is proud to carry a name that comes from the community and reflects the people, artists, and culture at the heart of our shop.

Shop Local & discover something meaningful. Handcrafted creations by local Indigenous artists.

Our Retail Story

The retail department at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre began with a simple goal: to create a space where visitors could discover and purchase authentic work from Yukon First Nations artists, as well as First Nations artists living in the Yukon, while providing artists with an opportunity to showcase, share, and sell their work.

What started as a small retail offering has grown over the past year into a diverse collection representing artists from across the Yukon. Our shop features a wide range of locally created work, including jewelry, beadwork, carvings, prints, original artwork, apparel, books, and other handcrafted pieces.

At the heart of our retail department is our relationship with the artists whose work we carry. By providing a welcoming space to showcase their work, we aim to support local artists while giving visitors an opportunity to take home something that carries a meaningful connection to the people, cultures, and creativity of the Yukon.

As the retail department continues to grow, we remain committed to celebrating Yukon First Nations artistry, building strong relationships with artists, and creating a space where their work and stories can be shared with visitors from the Yukon and around the world.
