Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre

Stormy Stormy worked at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre starting in the fall of 2015 until May 2016. She came back to her host position in March of 2017. She is a part of the Tr’ondëk Hwëchin First Nation and was born and raised in Whitehorse. She is a part of the crow clan and is an Aboriginal youth leader for a project called Shared Wisdom to end gender-based violence. Her favourite part of the building is the Sacred Space. She loves working in this building because she has the ability to practice her culture.

Sandi Sandi started on June 3rd, 2015 as a host. Her First Nation is the Dease River Band and she is Kaska as well as from the wolf clan. Sandi was born and raised in Whitehorse and has lived in the Kwanlin Dün First Nation community for 34 years. Her favourite thing about the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is being able to meet new people and see the different events that happen at the centre.

Talia Talia has worked as a host at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre since March 2017. She is a part of the Yukon First Nations. Born and raised in Whitehorse, Talia loves fishing, hiking, and playing with her dog. She also plays sports. Talia’s favourite part of the cultural centre is the staff as well as coming to different events each day. She also loves coming to work in a beautiful building that has cultural meaning.

Nicole Nicole has worked at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre for over a year as a host. She is a member of the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation. Born in Whitehorse, Nicole is a part of the wolf clan and spent summers in the bush with her grandma. She enjoys meeting new people, her great coworkers, the beauty of the cultural centre, and learning new things throughout her work.

Hayley Hayley has worked at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre since October 2016 as a host and morning baker. She is a member of the Little Salmon Carmacks First Nation and from the wolf clan. She was born in Whitehorse and raised in Carmacks. Hayley is an artist who loves sports and has a lot of ambition. Her favourite thing about working at the cultural centre is the family environment and approachable attitudes.

Tayler Tayler has worked for the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre as a host for over a year. She is a part of the Kwanlin Dün First Nation and she is from the wolf clan. Tayler was born and raised in Whitehorse but loves to travel. Her favourite thing about working at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre is that she enjoys working for her First Nation.

Katherine Katherine has worked at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre as a host for about two months. She is a part of the Vuntut Gwitchin First Nation. Born and raised in Whitehorse, Katherine likes to hike, cruise around, and do anything outdoors. Her favourite thing about the cultural centre is seeing familiar faces.

Candace Candace has worked at the Kwanlin Dün Cultural Centre for over a year as a host. She is Inuvialuit. Born in Whitehorse, Candace loves to fish, hunt, go out on her dirtbike, and going ski-dooing in the winter. Candace enjoys working with all the people that come to the centre. She also likes meeting the happy people that come in the summer.
